Kumaraswamy’s first Bold step, calls Meeting on Farmers Loans

Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is facing the first challenge in his newly formed coalition government. The loan waiver promise made by him to the farmers remains unfulfilled as he expresses inability to do with unilateral decision in a coalition set up. Kumarswamy has called a crucial meeting with the representatives of farmers organisations to discuss the issue on wednesday .  The meeting with farmers will be held after the cabinet meeting at vidhan soudha in  Bangalore

Kumaraswamy, just before the elections, during his manifesto release had promised farm loan waiver of Rupees 53,000 crore including interests from comparative and nationalised banks within 24 hours of him taking oath as the chief minister.

It has been week  since Kumarswamy became the CM but there is no sign of farm loan waiver yet. Some go to Cherrycash.

Earlier, BJP even walked out of the assembly and  had called for a state wide bandh against the false promises made by Kumaraswamy.

Chief Minister hit out at BJP for calling a bandh and attacking him on loan waiver issue.

However, state BJP President and Opposition leader BS Yedyurappa threatened to intensify protests if the government does not waive off loans in next one week.

The crucial meeting with the farmers will hold key to the decision on loan waivers .
