#AeroIndiaInBengaluru movement intensifies

The debate over the Aero India 2019 , continued to rock Bengaluru for second day running. Cutting across political lines , BJP MP’s joined the chorus of retaining the event in Bengaluru. While the biggest defence that they put forwrd was that the Defence Minister had yet to take a final call on the matter. Former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa was the first to react as he told the media that he would pursue the matter with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

However the same did not cut much ice as finally , Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy sent a formal leter toPrime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention in the matter. The Chief minister in his letter made a strong appeal to reatin AeroIndia 2019 in Bengaluru. His cabinet colleagues R V Deshpande , Priyank Kharge and others also cited reasons to retain the event in Bengaluru. The signature campaign  by students wing of the Congress party found wide spread support , with people from every walk of life joining in the campaign. #AeroIndiaInBengaluru became a treanding hastag on social media.

The defence minister and her ministry remained non-commital on the matter , as a final decision is yet to be announced amidst the reports of Lucknow getting ready to improve infrastructure at Bakshi Ka Talab. “Is it a mere coincidence that Uttar Pradesh suddenlly is a prefered destination for the Government Of India. The fact that Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2019 will be hosted in Varanasi , Aero India is proposed in Lucknow and the Kumbh Mela in Allahabad in a span of two months raises the doubts that the move is political in nature .” said Brijesh Kalappa speaking to NewsBasics.
