Rahul is on Padayatra for the existence of Congress Party: CM Bommai
Former president of AICC Rahul Gandhi is doing Bharath Jodo Yatra for the existence of Congress Party in the nation, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking after inaugurating BJP Sankalp Yatra headed by CM Bommai and former CM B.S.Yediyurappa at Gilesugur village in Raichur taluk on Tuesday, he said leader of the Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah comes from the Samajwadi background and the day he joined the Congress Party he had left behind the ‘Samajwad’. It is painful that Siddaramaiah has been working under a small boy and following his instructions. This is not the symbol of self-respect. “The Congress leaders are ready to do anything for the sake of power. Rahul Gandhi has been doing padayatra to be relevant in the current political situation. This event is nothing but ‘relaunching’ of Rahul Gandhi and not for the common people, dalits and backward classes. Siddaramaiah has been accompanying such a yatra. What was your status and now where are you? See for yourself. We need not take lessons from you”.
Terming the Congress Party as a sinking ship, Bommai said those who were on that side are coming to this side and there are indications about it. Both Rajyashakti and Jan Shakti will decide democracy. While Rajya Shakti is in favour, Jan shakti is in favour of the state. If Rajya Shakti does anti-people work then Rajya Shakti will not stand in favour of Rajya Shakti. As the State Congress leaders say AHINDA comprising minorities, backward classes and dalits. But dalits and backward classes have left the Congress Party and only minorities are remaining. He said the Congress Party while in power never thought about dalits and backward classes and now they have come to Raichur as their ‘Yuvaraj’ has been on Bharath Jodo yatra. They are scared whether the crowd will gather or for that they have come. The Congress claims that reservation for SC/ST was their contribution. But they ruled for fifty years of the total 60 years and the population of dalits had increased and more and more castes included in it. The Congress leaders never thought of hiking reservations for them in order to bring them to the mainstream of the society. The SC/ST communities are denied education and employment. The Congress governments did not have the common sense of uplifting them. Now, the incumbent BJP Government, with the blessings of Yediyurappa has hiked the quota for them and the Congress Party was claiming the credit for it. They had promised many bhagyas but what they had given has been ‘dourbhagya’ (misery) to the SC/ST communities.
He said Congress leaders say him as the puppet in the hands of RSS. The RSS is a patriotic organisation which is striving to keep the country united and serving dalits, backward classes and giving voice to the voiceless in order to bring them to the mainstream of the society. They (Congress) have no moral right to talk about that organisation. “The Congress leaders promised to develop the Kalyana Karnataka region and the people believed in their welfare. Due to lack of clear-cut policy, the funds remain unspent. Yediyurappa had released Rs 1800 crore every year and the incumbent government had released Rs 3000 crore, cleared the action plan and started works.
Former CM Yediyurappa, State Joint-Incharge D.K.Aruna, Ministers, Shankar Patil Munenkoppa, Govind Karjol, B.Sriramulu, MLC N.Ravikumar, MP Raja Amareshwara Naik, Sanganna karadi and others were present.
