Bengaluru rises against Aero India shift bid
Bengaluru Woke up to campaigns aimed at retaining Aero India 2019 in Bengaluru. The citizens who are upset that Asia’s biggest Aviation event Aero India 2019 is being snatched away from it to favour Uttar Pradesh has upset Bengaluru.
A massive signature campaign was undertaken at several points in the city to impress upon Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to rreconsider it’s decision. Thousnds of students signed on petition to this regard. The Congress party led the campaign for retaining Aero India in Bengaluru.
Given the public outcry , even the BJP MP’s from Bengaluru Union Minister’s Ananth Kumar and D V Sadananada Gowda accompanied by Bengaluru Central MP P C Mohan sought appointment with Uniion defence minister to reconsider the move.
The industry , especially the aviation companies are literally shocked by the move of the Centre which is aimed at promoting Uttar Pradesh over Karnataka.
