BJP is ready to face Assembly election : CM Bommai
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the BJP is fully prepared to face the Assembly polls to be held on May 10.
He told reporters here on Wednesday that the BJP is having a strong cadre and the maximum number of members. The party has already held several campaigns such as booth-level, morchas convention, Sankalp Yatra, and Vijay Sankalp Yatra. Organizing the party is a continuous process and has been going on. Every preparation has been done to face the election.
The CM said the schemes of the Union Government, grants for infrastructure, welfare schemes of the state government, major decisions social and economic taken in favor of farmers, women, youth, SC/ST, OBC, assistance to the poor, drinking water schemes in rural areas, distribution of 10 kg rice during the Covid pandemic, Stree Samarthya, Swami Vivekananda and Raitha Vidyanidhi schemes have made the people support the BJP in the coming election. The demand to hike the quota for SC/St communities that was pending for 40 years was fulfilled by the BJP government. The increase in internal reservation, redressal of long pending solutions, and changes in OBCs have changed the mindset of the electorate to support the BJP. “We are seeking votes based on the work we have done in the last four years. I am optimistic that the people will support us”.
Bommai said opposition parties have made several allegations against the incumbent government but have failed to prove it. The corruption charges have boomeranged on them. Now, the Congress leaders are accused of involving in corruption. The Lokayuktha raid on the ruling BJP MLA’s house happened due to the strength given to the anti-corruption institution. A case has been registered against the MLA.
Bommai said the traditional vote bank of the Congress Party has been destroyed due to which they have resorted to making cheap remarks. The statements show their height of frustration.
He said the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the last three months have made a positive impact on the party. On May 13, 2023, the BJP will get an absolute majority and it will rule the state for another five years.
Several cases have been filed against the Congress leaders. No BJP MLA will join the Congress Party. Those MLAs from the Congress Party who joined the BJP in 2019, are no longer outsiders but part of the saffron party. KPCC President D.K.Shivakumar called those MLAs and offered to give them the tickets to contest in the coming Assembly election. The selection of candidates in the Congress Party has angered several leaders and workers.
