CM releases biography ‘On to the Rocketship’ of former ISRO scientist in Bengaluru.

Being humble is more important than flying in the sky, opined Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.Speaking after releasing ‘ On to the Rocketship’, a biography of B.N.Suresh today, he said the book will tell Suresh’s journey of life and make every Kannadiga proud. Being a fountain of inspiration it will be difficult for one to become humble but this one achievement will take one towards success. Suresh is a proud son of Karnataka and India and everyone must read his biography.

He said Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is like a temple which will take to the gods. This organisation has given a number of satellites. To reach god, one needs to have knowledge (gyan) and meditation (dhyan) and these are two important factors in ISRO to achieve success. Scientific knowledge and meditation are important. The scientists will resemble the bundle of knowledge. The best individuals are those who will use the knowledge for the welfare of society and country. “The government will chalk out programs keeping in view the uplift of the particular lot in the society but the scientists are silently working to solve problems as well as for the welfare of the future generation. Solution is the main aim in ISRO and that is its value too. Suresh was born in Hosakere village of Koppa taluk and reached the peak for the visibility of the whole world. As man reaches the peak, he will become alone. But Suresh has not forgotten his thinking power. He has made immense contributions for the people. Suresh can be called as ‘Son of the soil”.

Bommai said the State has premier institutions like Indian Institute of Sciences, ISRO and CFTRI that could be made use to find out solutions to many problems as well as the use of scientific knowledge. The state government is ready to constitute an authority by involving all these premier institutions. They must work for the future generation. Civilisation is growing but not culture. They don’t have the clarity between civilization and culture. What they wanted was people like Suresh who would talk about the unfazed roots. Plans are afoot to constitute an authority comprising retired officials who have served in the reputed organisations to continue to do good works in future. ” Human values must be used for all good works and scientists must think in this direction. A few scientists will bring in new projects. The power of the human brain must be utilized. Bengaluru is a right place for research and no better place can be thought of other than Karnataka. “We are here because of the values of our forefathers. It is more pertinent to think about what they can give for the future. We need to think in this direction”, he added.
