Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has said that he never insulted the Brahmin community of the state, except that he said that the BJP and RSS were going to make a person with the DNA of Marathi Peshwas as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.
There was a lot of opposition to the statement given by former CM HD Kumaraswamy about Brahmins. Minister R. Many people including Ashok, Brahmin Mahasabha leaders responded to HDK’s statement. Mr. Page also gave a response. If a Brahmin becomes the Chief Minister, so be it. Why should Brahmins not become CM? Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji had asked if they were not citizens of India.

The statement I gave yesterday was not an insult to the Brahmin community. Brahmin society in Karnataka is a cultured society. I have respect for that Brahmin society. Answering a question, the former chief minister said that our family has always respected the Brahmin community and the Sringeri Math.

Didn’t the BJP along with Prime Minister Modi criticize Nitish Kumar’s DNA in the past? If I speak only they are making it a controversy. Kumaraswamy lashed out at the BJP and Pralhad Joshi saying that this would reveal what his intention was.

All I can say to the Brahmin Mahasabha is that I have not made a statement against the Brahmin community. When I was the CM, I gave space to the Brahmin Mahasabha near Banashankari. When I became the CM for the second time, I created the Brahmin Development Authority. When the truth is like this, some people are working to mislead people by distorting my statement, the former chief minister lashed out.

To be clear, the Brahmin CM is gone in this state. Who said no? I also agree. I will also support. But HD Kumaraswamy said, “My question is whether a person with the DNA of Peshwas, who attacked Karnataka and attacked Kannada heritage and culture, should become the CM.”

After the BJP government came to power in the state, they changed the text book. He put it to the matter of ritual. He mentioned about Tipu and spoiled people’s minds. He created a polluted environment in the society. That’s why I told him to be careful with some people; Who broke Sringeri Chandramauleshwara temple? Who killed Gandhiji? I told them that they all belong to the Peshwa family. He said that there was a plan to make such a person CM.
