IAS officers are not from heaven – Brijesh Kalappa.

Brijesh Kalappa, Head of the Communication Department of Aam Aadmi Party, opined in a press conference today that the inappropriate behaviour of the BJP and JDS parties in the assembly against the Deputy Speakers of the state for the small matter of appointing state IAS officers to welcome the current Chief Ministers and former Chief Ministers of many states and former Union Ministers who participated in the INDIA Opposition meeting held in Bengaluru city two days ago.

Brijesh Kalappa gave the list of those who participated in the meeting, “Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagwat Singh Mann, Nitish Kumar, Stalin, Hemant Suren, Mamata Banerjee are currently the Chief Ministers of various states of the country. Tejasvi Yadav is the current Deputy Chief Minister. Lalu Prasad Yadav, Sarath Yadav, Uddhav Thackeray, Akhilesh Yadav, Mehbooba Mufti, Omar Abdullah, Sitaram Yachuri, D. Raja are all former Chief Ministers and former Union Ministers. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are the presidents of the Indian National Congress. These are not ordinary people or passers-by
. Usually, when the Chief Ministers visit other states, it is the practice and tradition of our country to ask for the Chief Minister of the visiting state to welcome them. When such prominent personalities visit the state, it is not wrong to ask IAS officers to welcome them and IAS officers have not descended from the heavens. It is not correct to politicize the etiquette extended and spoil the proceedings of the assembly.” said Brijesh Kalappa.

“At the time of the INDIA opposition meet, there was NDA allies meet happening in Delhi simultaneously. In this meet 26 parties out of the 38 parties that participated in the meeting of NDA’s allies in Delhi did not even have members in the Lok Sabha. 10 of these parties did not participate in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. There are only 9 MPs out of the 8 parties put together. 11 of these parties have not received recognition. Can it be said that it is disrespectful for the Prime Minister to participate with such people?”

He condemned the fact that BJP and JDS members are ruining the House without discussing the severe problems like drought, stalled irrigation projects, the plight of mango growers and many other problems in the state.
