Kannada writers Moodnakudu Chinnaswamy and Padmaraj Dandavati gets Central Sahitya Akademi awards
The Central Sahitya Akademi on Thursday announced its yearly awards for the year 2022 and Kannada writer Moodnakudu Chinnasway’s ‘Bahutvada Bharath mattu Bouddha tatvikate ‘ has got main award while journalist Padmaraj Dandavati ‘s ‘ Seetha : Ramayanada Sachitra Maru kathan ‘ has got translation award.
Dandavati has translated Devadatta Pattanaik’ s ‘Seetha’ from English into Kannada.
While the main book award carries Rs one lakh and citation , translation award carries Rs fifty thousand and citation
The awards would be given in a function organized at New Delhi in the month of March 2023.
The selection of awards were carried out under the supervision of Dr Sarjoo Katkar the convenor of Kannada advisory board of Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.
Dr C Naganna, Chandrasekhar Vastrad and Padmaraj Dandavati were the juriies for Main book award while Dr Jagadish Koppa, Dr Mohan Kuntar and Dr Kamalakar Bhat were the juries for translation award.
Bahutvada Bharat is published by Ladayi prakashana of Gadag and Seetha is published by Manohar grantha mala of Dharwad.
