Karnataka is the third state in South India to have a National Defense University study centre.
The Home Minister said that the prestigious Rashtriya Raksha University, which is being established in Shimoga, will function in the existing buildings of the Kendriya Vidyalaya in an 8-acre area and will start functioning from this academic year itself.
An MoU was signed today with the state government and the National Raksha University to set up a Karnataka Study Center of the National Raksha University (RRU) in Shimoga city.
Now, Karnataka is thus the third state in South India to have a National Defense University study centre.Home Minister Araga Gyanendra expressed his opinion after the agreement that this university will make a significant contribution to the youth of the country in the field of security and police services, to carry out advanced training, education, research etc. activities and to create the required human resources in this field. He said that the prestigious Rashtriya Raksha University, which is being established in Shimoga, will function in the well-equipped buildings of the present Kendriya Vidyalaya in an area of 8 acres and will start functioning from this academic year itself.
The study center of the prestigious university of the country will initially offer diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including degrees and certificates in Police Science, Administration, Cyber Security and Digital Research, Defense Management, Criminal Justice, Coast Guard, Road Safety, Physical Education related subjects. will be provided.
The Raksha University center of the state will not only function as an education and study center for the defense sector, but also as a training and coaching center for the candidates who want to join various posts in the police department.
Araga Gyanendra said that the center of Raksha Vishwa Vidyalaya, Shimoga, will be recognized as a world-class center for the education of various subjects related to the defense sector and that such a center has been sanctioned for the state, especially Shimoga district, and thanked the Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that Raksha University will be an important institution in the field of defense related education of the country and it is a matter of pride that the center of such an institution is coming to Shimoga district in the state.
