In order to ensure the maximum percentage of polling in the upcoming assembly elections, BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath , who is also the District Electoral Officer, has undertaken the task of creating awareness among the people on the importance of polling in the elections.
Towards this end, Tushar Giri Nath has been meeting the employees of various small scale industries and Students of GT&TC in the BBMP limits
On Tuesday, Tushar Giri Nath had interaction with the employees of various Small Scale Industries at KASSIA auditorium and said that the success of democracy is intrinsically linked to the maximum voting in the elections.
Speaking at a campaign titled “SVEEP” ( Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation ), at Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association, the BBMP Chief Commissioner – who is also the District Electoral Officer – said the more informed, conscientious and pro – active voter is the mainstay of the electoral process. He appealed to the people to come out and vote in large numbers in the interest of democracy.
A drama titled ” Pledge to Vote ” was staged to create awareness. The SVEEP campaign is a part of the awareness initiative of the Election Commission of India (ECI) in order to sensitise the voters, especially the IT and BT companies, industries and persuade them to take part in the election process in the form of maximum voting.
