Nitin Gadkari Launches first of its kind pilot project on Flexi-Fuel Strong Hybrid Electric Vehicles (FFV-SHEV) in India.
Minister for Large & Medium Industries Dr Murugesh R Nirani participated in launch of Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid, a first-of-its-kind pilot project on Flexi-Fuel Strong Hybrid Electric Vehicles (FFV-SHEV) at the premises of official residence of Union minister for Road Transport and Highways in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The pilot project’s goal is to assess the viability of hybrid vehicles in India, which can run on ethanol-powered flex fuel vehicles to reduce pollution, as well as to enable the use of ethanol in electric-hybrid vehicles to reduce reliance on petrol and diesel.
Union Minister Gadkari launched the vehicle and said that TVS, Bajaj and Hero MotoCorp are already ready with ethanol vehicles and we need to encourage electric, ethanol, methanol, biodiesel and hydrogen fuels.
