Oscar-winning music composer A.R. Rahman, who has composed for Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan: 1’, recently spoke about the remix culture that has been making waves in the present music scene.

Over the years, Rahman has worked with the ace filmmaker on multiple projects such as ‘Roja’, ‘Thiruda Thiruda’, ‘Bombay’, ‘Iruvar’, ‘Dil Se..’, and ‘Guru’ to name a few.

In an interview Rahman calling the remix culture ‘distorted’ said, “People say, ‘I am reimagining.’ Who are you to re-imagine? I am also very careful of taking someone else’s work. You have to be respectful and I think it is a grey area, we need to sort it out.”
