CM launches ‘Stree Samarthya’ scheme.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai wanted the products of Stree Shakthi groups to develop as the Stree Samarthya brand and said through this scheme the rural economy will improve.

Inaugurating the ‘Stree Samarthya-Namo Stree’ program organised as part of International Day of women here on Wednesday, he said financial assistance of Rs 100 crore has been transferred to 10,000 women Self-help groups through DBT. Every week, the money will be transferred to 10,000 SHGs. The self-help groups will be linked to banks to seek loan-sanctioned letters, training for product manufacture, purchase of machinery, and marketing facilities. Through this scheme, the government wants to make them self-reliant, earn more, and lead a quality life.

The CM said Rs 500 crore will be disbursed among 50,000 women self-help groups across the state. With the banks’ assistance, Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 crore help towards capital will be arranged. The government is ready to promote a business turnover of Rs 30,000 crore. The women’s self-help groups must contribute to the State GDP, and production must start from the next month. This scheme is expected to provide self-employment to at least 5 lakh women across the state.

The CM opined instead of the state government becoming rich, the people must become rich. The development will be big with the economic strength of the government and the working capital of the people. The manufacturing of sanitary napkins is going on in all districts and this is very important from the health point of the rural girl children. It will also bring profit to women SHGs. The social revolution and the economic empowerment of women are happening in the state and they will make a big contribution to society. The hard-working women are not the beneficiaries of the government schemes but are partners. In the next two to three years, this scheme will bring huge revenue. Already 50,000 women SHGs are registered and the strength of working is their real capital. Some people were cheating them by promising them the guarantee card without any capital guarantee. The scheme has been launched by the state and union governments and it must be utilized by women.
