Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah will hold back-to-back meetings in Karnataka later this week, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders
The leaders said Union home minister Shah would attend a regional conference on drug trafficking and national security for southern states/UTs in Bengaluru.
The home minister will also oversee the destruction of 9,298 kg of seized drugs valued at ₹1,235 crores during the regional conference on Friday, they added.
Amit Shah who also holds the cooperation portfolio, will then visit Kommaghatta village on the outskirts of Bengaluru, where he will lay the foundation stone of the ‘Sahakara Samruddhi Soudha’.
He will also inaugurate various other programmes related to the ministry of cooperation, the leaders said. He will arrive in the city on Thursday night, would have a breakfast meeting with Karnataka BJP strongman and former chief minister B S Yediyurappa at his residence on Friday.According to BJP leaders, he will visit the state again on March 26.
Between Shah’s back-to-back visits on March 24 and 26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend events in Bengaluru and Davangere on March 25.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be arriving in the city for the concluding program of Vijaya Sankalpa Yatra, which will be held on March 25 in Davangere, and a total of 10 lakh will participate,” said BJP MP GM Siddeshwar, adding that 300,000 people will participate from Davangere district alone.
State general secretary Mahesh Tenginakai said four Vijaya Sankalpa Yatras have been successful. A total of 5,600 kms were covered by the Yatra. “Millions of people attended; We have reached 224 constituencies,” he said, adding that “a pro-BJP wave has been created”.
“A grand gathering of 4 rallies will be held in Davangere. He said that activists and supporters from all assembly constituencies of the state would participate in the program, which will be held on March 25 at 1 pm,” he said.
Meanwhile, on March 26, Shah will inaugurate a 103 feet tall national flag at Gorata village of Bidar district. He also inaugurates Gorata Martyr Memorial and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He will participate in a public meeting at Gabbur in Devadurga taluk of Raichur district. These districts belong to the Kalyana Karnataka region, where the party is trying to make inroads.
Shah, who will inaugurate various development programs and lay the foundation stone, will participate in the function of Gujarat Samaj in Bengaluru inaugurate the Basaveshwar and Kempegowda statues in front of the Vidhana Soudha and inaugurate the Bengaluru festival. Following this, he attended the BJP State Core Committee meeting at a private hotel in Bengaluru.
