If Dalits are not given the post of DCM, the party may suffer: Parameshwar warns
Senior Congress leader, former DCM G Parameshwar has warned the central leadership of the party that if Dalits are not given the post of Deputy Chief Minister (DCM), there will be adverse consequences for the party.
His warning came hours after the Congress announced Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister and DK Shivakumar as the only DCM.
Responding to a question about the leadership’s condition that DK Shivakumar should be the DCM alone, Parameshwar said that in the eyes of DK Shivakumar, what he said may be right, but the High Command’s view must be different. The High Command should decide on this, we are waiting for them…” he said. There is a lot of expectation among the people, especially the Dalit community,” he added.
“Our leadership should understand these expectations and take a decision. If it doesn’t, naturally there will be reactions. I don’t need to say that. Instead of realizing it later, correct it now, otherwise the party may suffer, I want to tell you to understand it,” said Parameshwara.
