BMTC begins AC bus service between Bengaluru and Chikkaballapur from today

An AC bus service has been started on Tuesday by the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) from Kempegowda bus station to the Chikkaballapur bus station. This is the first AC BMTC bus service to Chikkaballapur town which is around 60 kilometers from the capital city.
In an announcement, BMTC said, “Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation is providing efficient, reliable, comfortable and affordable transport facilities to its commuters. For the benefit of travelling public, BMTC is introducing Air-conditioned services from Kempegowda Bus Station to Chikkaballapur Bus Stand Via: Hebbala, Yelahanka, Rani Circle/Devanahalli w.e.f. 21st March-2023.” Two AC buses will travel between Kempegowda bus station and the Chikkaballapura.
The move is expected to benefit the farmers, small businessmen and employees who travel to Bengaluru from Chikkaballapur on an everyday basis. Karnataka minister Sudhakar K earlier took to Twitter and wrote, “Ugadi’s gift to the people of Chikkaballapur! As per the long-awaited demand of the people of the district to extend the buses of Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation to Chikkaballapur, the scope of BMTC has been extended and henceforth BMTC buses will also ply to our Chikkaballapur.”

He also said that the bus service will escalate the economic growth of the Chikkaballapur town. He further wrote, “This will benefit all the citizens of Chikkaballapur, including farmers, students, small businessmen, employees, who travel to Bangalore on a daily basis, and the economic progress of the district will also be accelerated.”
