Schools closed due to heavy rain in Tamil Nadu.

Visuals of water-logged roads, congested localities, and slow-moving traffic are what greeted Chennai residents on Tuesday after overnight rains lashed the city. Chennai is expected to receive more rain today and in the coming days, as per the weather department forecast.
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Chennai, which announced the onset of the northeast monsoon on October 29, has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated locations as well till November 4.
Several stretches in and around the arterial Anna Salai witnessed waterlogging, resulting in traffic congestion and slow movement of vehicles.
Schools will be shut in Chennai on account of heavy rains. Apart from Chennai, a holiday has been declared in Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Chengelpet, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur and Tiruvarur districts of Tamil Nadu due to rainfall.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review monsoon precautionary measures. CM Stalin instructed authorities in Chennai to stay vigilant. He advised officials to ensure that hospitals are ready and to move people away from low-lying areas if required.

“If needed, place citizens in relief centres and make sure basic amenities are provided. Even a small mistake will cause a bad reputation and a small good deed will bring about a great appreciation. Remember this,” said the Tamil Nadu chief minister.
